This file contains a 16-color Hi-res picture of an Amiga Keyboard Function
Key Strip. This strip contains the macros of the new Function key
mapping (keys F1 through F10 on your keyboard) you will get when you use
the SetKey KeyMap Editor Version 1.0 Demo which you will find in the
AmigaZone Club on PeopleLink.
The Demo version of the Editor is slightly crippled (not fully working)
only in that it will not save new keymaps you create yourself. It comes
with some pre-defined keymaps, one of which is for the standard set
of often-used CLI commands. By following the instructions for installing
the new keymap "CLIKEYS" (you'll find the instructions included with the
SetKey KeyMap Editor program itself) and then loading up your Deluxe Paint
(or any other Amiga program capable of printing out hi-res screens), you'll
get a paper "function key strip" which you can cut out and place in that
indententation (on the top of your Amiga's keyboard) which normally just
collects dust. (note that Diamond Font should be in your assigned Fonts
directory for the printout to look like the screen)
A color printer would be preferable but if you don't have one, black
ribbon will work just fine. If you have Deluxe Paint you can also change
the lettering inside the F-key boxes on this picture to other keymappings
you may use. IBM folks have to buy macro-key generating programs to do
this kind of thing. Amiga folks have it easy - with Workbench version 1.2,
keymapping is included!
The SetKey KeyMap Editor Version 1.0 Demo is public domain. For instructions
on how to purchase the fully functional version, read the documentation that
accompanies that file.
